Hey everyone! Welcome back! For those who don’t remember me, my name is Kristen and we’re doing another episode of Pajama Rama brought to you by the Guelph Public Library! Now today I would like to introduce you to one of our books from our Indigenous collection. So if you’d like to read more books written by or illustrated by or even about the Indigenous Peoples of Canada and around the world, check out any library. They all have this big red sticker at the bottom with a nice big “I” on them. It makes it really easy to find. If you can’t find them, please ask the staff. We’re happy to show them to you! But today’s book is called, “It’s time for bed,” which I hope you’re all going to soon. [flipping pages of the book]
There’s our first page. [starts reading]
It’s time for bed. The Sun has set.
Have you brushed your teeth yet? No I don’t want to brush my teeth. I want
to dance with the polar bears. Roar! It’s time for bed and the Sun has set.
Have you put on your PJs yet? No I don’t want to put them on. I want to run with the caribou! Run run run! It’s time for bed. The Sun has set.
Have you put away your toys yet? No I don’t want to put them away. I want to fly with the geese! Honk! It’s time for bed and the Sun has set.
Have you picked a goodnight story yet? No I don’t want to pick a story. I want to
howl with the wolves. HOWWWWWWL. It’s time for bed. the Sun has set.
Have you climbed into bed yet? No I don’t want to climb into bed yet.
I want to hop with the rabbits! Hop up! It’s time for bed. The Sun has set.
Have you closed your eyes yet? No I don’t want to close my eyes. I want to swim with the fish! Splish splish splash! It’s time for bed. The Sun has set. You’ve danced with polar bears, run with caribou, blow the geese, howl with the wolves, hopped with the rabbits and swam with the fish! Are you ready for bed yet? I’m ready for bed now. Then what are we waiting for? Let’s go to bed. Good night. [end of story]
Yeah I hope that got you in the mood to get some sweet dreams tonight. Now just before we wrap up another episode of pajama Rama, I was hoping we could sing a little green
frog! [starts singing]
Mm mm, went the little green frog one day. Mm mm went the little green frog. Mm mm went the little green frog one day and they went Mm mm ah.
But we all know frogs go la di da di da, la di da di da, la di da di da and we all know frogs go la di da di da.
They don’t go Mm ah. [stops singing]
Beautiful! You guys are amazing singers! Thank you so much for joining me today and I hope I will see you soon! And once again remember…
to keep on reading!
